Thanks for your attention. I´ve downloaded the demo version and tried to install for know this solution who appears a great option to our environment. During install in Linux with root user and SYS database´s sysdba, i´ve got an error ora-01017 (invalid username/password), but i´m sure this user and password are correct and checked for capital letter too. In another tool, eg sqlplus, using the same username/password above, the connection are ok.

Our team must decide between WEB options, what would be best tool for our project. We consider PHP+Zend, Oracle Apex and Formspider. Our test box: Suse Linux 10 64bits with Oracle 10.2 64bits (the next test is with RedHat6 and Oracle 11g)

Could you help me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Elias,

I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. We suspect that may be a character set issue.

Do you have any nonASCII or any punctuation character in your password?
What is your OS locale that you run the installer?
What is your DB character set. You can get it with the following query:

SELECT *
FROM NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS
WHERE PARAMETER = 'NLS_CHARACTERSET'

Hi Ugur

Thanks again for your attention. First, my apologies: I'm from Brazil and i've worked with oracle dba for many years (since version 7).

I checked the tips you went, setting the variables on Linux to root user: ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_BASE, PATH and NLS_LANG. The SYS's password is ORA123 (in lowercase, no punctuation so).

Now, the queries:

# env | grep NLS_LANG
NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1

# pwd
/FSpider

# sqlplus /nolog
SQL> connect sys/ora123 as sysdba
Connected.
SYSTEM@nmbak> SELECT *
  2  FROM NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS
  3  WHERE PARAMETER = 'NLS_CHARACTERSET';

PARAMETER                      VALUE
------------------------------ ------------
NLS_CHARACTERSET               WE8ISO8859P1

# java -version
java version "1.6.0_34"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment . . .

# java -jar Formspider_1.1.1.jar

Unfortunately, the connection setup shows the same error message: ORA-01017 Invalid username/password logon denied.

What can be done?

Thank you, my best regards.
