Hi, Would it be possible to create a master-detail report in accordion style? For example. Datasource 1 is based on a table with countries. Datasource 2 is based on a table with cities I want to see a list of countries and when i click a country, the cities should be shown. Like an accordion. One country at a time. If it is possible, do you have an example for me? Kind regards, Jan Willem |
Hi Jan, in this example the accordions are hard coded, it should just give you an impression of the concept behind. :-) The next step should be to add the detail accordions during runtime using the api functions when you expand e.g. "2. products". Therefore it is possible to loop over a filtered datasource instance to determine the corresponding detail panels. Changing the style is the next part, but is also doable and the possibilities are hugh. To give you an impression of what we did, take a look into the demo video placed on the Formspider startpage ;-) Best Regards, Michael |
Yes, i watched the video :) And i have also registered for the session in April. But you are probably with a few developers with a lot of time. My time is very limited and without working examples and documentation, it is a hard challenge to get "on board" with Formspider. I know that the possibilities almost have no limit. But my challenge now is to create the accordions for all masters. Thanks to your help i know (somehow) where to start, but i am afraid that regarding my limited time it will take weeks, maybe months before i have what i need. I need to study the API's, find out how and when they should be called, have to figure out the structure of panels etc etc. Perhaps it is easier to draw a design and then ask Yalim to build it with this team :) Kind regards, Jan Willem |
Hi Jan, yes to figure out each api function will take some time, but is doable. If you don't have time and need more help to get "on board" with Formpsider, we might assist you - don't hesitate to ask more questions in Q&A, I will try to answer them. If you need some coaching in Best Practices or need some help in developing we can assist you as well. We are cooperating with Yalim, so if you are interest in, feel free to contact Yalim or me directly. Best regards, Michael |
