I do like the Oracle Reports integration with the htmlRenderer item. But that way my browser has to connect to the ReportsServer.

  • the URL has to be accessible from the browser
  • username, password and parameters are passed as cleartext via ReportServerURL

Is there a way how the reportsServer connect is done only by Tomcat (hidden from the browser)?

This is especially important for B2B Shop type apps, where one lets the customer print his own order confirmation or delivery notice, but still want to prevent said customers from printing each others' documents.

Hi Paul,

I can't tell right off the top of my head. In general, these things are possible with a little bit tweaking but it's been a while since we've posted that demo, so I have to take another look.
