Hi,

Can you please explain what the difference is between api_datasource.isdirty and api_datasource.isdmlnecessary? Wich one is the best to use in order to check if a datasource has uncommitted changes?

Thanks again, Michiel

Hi Michiel,

İsDmlNecessary function returns Y when the dasource has uncommitted changes ans it is updatable. Updatable datasource means at least one of the delete/update/insert permissions should be checked on the datasource definition. The function will always return N if it is not updatable, even its rows are modified.

isDirty api always returts Y if datasource rows are modified. It doesnt check if the datasource is updatable or not.
