Hi All,

This question was already asked some time ago but structure is never explained.

I want install formspider 1.5.0 with glassfish. Found two fs war files 1.1.1 and 1.2.1 over internet but there is no info about warfile fs-1.5.0.war - is fs-1.2.1.war newest ?

I suppose it is organized like listener in apex but not exactly sure about this.

Is this version number connected with jar version (1.5.0) ?

Anyway - how can I download newest version of war ? :-)

Thanks

Thanks for that Ibrahim, I understand that each new version of formspider got the same version of war file. But why this is so difficult to get that :-)

Questions and Answers mention about possibility to use jar client app instead of tomcat based IDE interface is this available in 30-days demo ?

I'm asking that simple questions trying to estimate how production/licensed package differs from demo.

Cheers

Hey guys,

I see that this question was asked before. Where can we download a current FS war file for deploying and testing?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Downunder,

If you download the Formspider installer, you can use it to only install the Formspider War file. Is this good enough for you? If you want, I can provide a link to the war file itself but then you would need to update the settings yourself.

Kind Regards,
Yalim

Thanks Yalim!

This are the steps I've done:

  1. install Glassfish as usual, and run (Linux server named Venus):

venus bin # pwd /opt/glassfish4/glassfish/bin venus bin # ./asadmin Use "exit" to exit and "help" for online help. asadmin> change-admin-password Enter admin user name [default: admin]> Enter the admin password> Enter the new admin password> Enter the new admin password again> Command change-admin-password executed successfully. asadmin> enable-secure-admin Enter admin user name> admin Enter admin password for user "admin"> You must restart all running servers for the change in secure admin to take effect. Command enable-secure-admin executed successfully. asadmin> restart-domain Successfully restarted the domain Command restart-domain executed successfully. asadmin>

  2. Than use Formspider installer only for Middle Tier Components

  3. Use Existing Tomcat Server Installation (this is a bit misleading since using Glassfish :)
  4. Use all details as per above plus all database details as you would for normal installation

The Glassfish Admin port is 4848. The FS installer Test connection working for both with above details.

However, no war was deployed:

I think this in bold in the problem. Easily fixed if the installer doesn't delete the war file ;)

What do you think?

Hi downunder,

It is not possible to use Formspider installer to install Formspider to Glassfish. You have to deploy Formspider manually.

Fortunately, there is a blog post for it already. You will find the details on http://ronr.blogspot.com.tr/2012/07/how-to-setup-formspider-apex.html.

Hi Serdar, thanks for your reply. The above blog is based on the war file :) Which we don't have since the installer will delete the war file during install.

Hence, it would be welcomed to modify the installer script to leave the war file in temp folder. Easy solution.

D.
