Hi,

Just an idea that I think might be useful and worth considering for inclusion at some point in the future, a kind of preprocessor for the UI XML.

This would be useful for a number of things but specifically for reusing UI XML code; you would be able to define a block of XML and then reuse it over and over simply by referencing a preprocessor directive.

For example, lets say we define a block of code as follows..

#define MY_CODE
    <row>
        <cell>
            <textLabel ... />
        </cell>
    </row>
#endef

I could then reuse the above block of code as many times as is needed with something like this...

#MY_CODE

or to ensure the UI XML remains as standard formatted XML you could have a new tag, something like this...

<preprocessor name="MY_CODE"/>

This would certainly be useful and could save time as I'm finding that I'm repeating a lot of common blocks of code on a number of panels.

Obviously no urgency on this but just a thought.

Thanks,

Craig.
