Hi,

I have noticed a minor feature that might be worth changing or at least augmenting with another option.

The "Format" feature in the UI XML editor currently reformats things like...

<row> </row>

with this...

<row/>

This is not really a "reformat" but more of an "optimisation", in my mind reformatting should not alter a single character of code, it should only make the code look nice, nothing more.

Whilst I can understand why you are doing this, I think it should be optional or you should have a separate "Optimise" feature; often I find myself building out the layout for a panel before adding any components onto the panel, so what I do is create the correct combination of rows and columns, if the layout in complex I'll do a lot of copy and paste and it is at this point the formatting all goes out and so I use the Format feature to bring it all back inline again only to find I now have to edit all my empty rows and columns to add back in the terminating tag.

Just a thought.

Thanks,

Craig.
