Hello Jose,

The APR library is optional for performance, thus, you don't actually need this library. If you want to install it anyway, I found an answer on stackoverflow about this issue, may be this can help you.

The Answer is here

Besides, the error you encounter seems that tomcat started successfully, however, there is an issue about database connectivity or middletier functionality. To investigate the issue, we need the complete log files of tomcat and Formspider installer. Could you please send us the "log" folder of Tomcat and the log files of Formspider installer? Waiting for your response,
Best Regards,

Hi, that seems to be the problem :

Tomcat log file : abr 30, 2013 6:29:41 PM org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader validateJarFile INFO: validateJarFile(/home/spider/Gerger/Formspider Server/apache-tomcat-6.0.29/webapps/formspider/WEB-INF/lib/servlet-api.jar) - jar not loaded. See Servlet Spec 2.3, section 9.7.2. Offending class: javax/servlet/Servlet.class

But this file exist in the directory where it try to locate, so it is not needed loock for it, the question is why TomCat dont read it.

Regards.

Hi, I don't think the problem is that you specified above, because it's just a known "INFO" type log. It shouldn't keep tomcat from running.

As I read through the log files of tomcat, I see the NULL pointer exception which is generally the sign of database connectivity error between Formspider Database Engine and Formspider Middletier. To be sure about this, please look at the apache-tomcat-XX/webapps/formspider/META-INF/context.xml. This file includes the database connection information. There should be something wrong in this file.

If you don't spot what's wrong here, please share the file with me for further investigation.

With jar at this moment is not "inportant" , but sometimes i get error the NULL pointer exception which is generally the sign of database connectivity error between Formspider Database Engine and Formspider Middletier. I mean when after restart all server (machine). I get this error, restart tomcat6 and is all ok. OS - Oracle Linux 6.4 Tomcat6 DB - Oracle 11.1.0.7 Java - java version "1.6.0_30", OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.13.3) (rhel-5.1.13.3.el6_5-x86_64),OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode) JDBC Driver Version - 11.2.0.3.0

Context.xml (I use from this location: /usr/share/tomcat6/conf) <context>

            driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
            factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
            url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.15.21:1521:RPV"

            connectionCachingEnabled="true"
            connectionCacheProperties="{MinLimit=5, MaxLimit=300, InitialLimit=5, ConnectionWaitTimeout=30 InactivityTimeout=600, TimeToLiveTimeout=600, AbandonedConnectionTimeout=600, PropertyCheckInterval=300 ValidateConnection=true}"
