I have seen this error before, even found a message on the Q&A about missing privileges on a tmp directory in the tomcat structure. I use glassfish and glassfish runs as the owner of the middletier software structure. Using formspider 1.3 IDE to do the import application. How can I solve this problem? Could a directory be missing?

thanks, Ronald.

The problem appeared to be a glassfish 3.1.2 problem, fixed in In case it is not possible to simply - and quickly - upgrade glassfish, the problem was in the web-code.jar module which can easily be replaced by a fixed version.

The fixed module can be downloaded from java.net for which you need a login. A copy can be found here from formspider support.

replace the module found in glassfish3/glassfish/modules/ and restart glassfish. In my case I had to redeploy formspider to get it up and running again.

Hi Ronald,

This problem may be caused by the following reasons:

  • As you mentioned, if your OS user doesn't have necessary permissions to create file/write data to the "temp" folder existing in the middle-tier.
  • If the import process cannot be completed within 30 minutes.

If these are not your case, can you check the server.log for the error messages? Also, please send your export XML file to contact@theformspider.com.

I remember that you have solved a similar problem before by re-installing glassfish, this may help again.

Best Regards,
